Continuous Concrete Pool Edging

Continous concrete pool edging, where the concrete is cast to form the pool edge, can be used to provide a different look and feel to a pool as shown by the pictures below. While not suitable for every project it does allow for some different design options especially for unusual shapes.

It is possible to buy polystyrene forms that will allow different profiles to be created at the edge.

There are some restrictions in it's use that should be noted:

  1. A form must be able to be built allowing the canitlever over the pool edge
  2. there must be a slip layer at the top of the pool itself to allow movement of the slab.
  3. Cuts must be planned so they come off the corner to minimise the risk of cracking (as shown in the phot below
