The second New World Floor to feature Peter Fell Colour
Client: Foodstuffs Properties (Wgtn) Limited
Architect: Proarch Architects, Palmerston North
Main Contractor: Alexander
Construction, Napier
Concrete Supplier: Firth Industries, Napier
The project utilised Peter Fell colour 334 which was chosen to lift the
appearance and contribute to the overall aesthetic. To this a Salt and Pepper
grind was applied - a light grind was used to ensure flatness and increase the
durability, then the C2 Seal system was applied to add durabilty, gloss and
lustre.
The floor was poured in a checkerboard pattern, with the concrete travelling about an hour from the Firth plant in Napier. Early morning pours were chosen to ensure consistent concrete, and minimise any colour differences between pours. Firth can be justly proud of a job well done on this project.
This is the second New World project that has incorporated Peter Fell coloured concrete as the final finished surface, the first being Greenmeadows New World in Taradale which you can read about in our case study.
