For Flatwork use PFL Surface Preparation or PFL Eco Surface Preparation

To prepare the surface for sealing, a light etch must be done to remove any surface contamination. Follow the five steps below using either PFL Surface Preparation or PFL Eco Surface Preparation.

Step 1.

Start with a dry surface.

Step 2.

Wet down the surface.

Step 3.

Apply either 20:1 (or 10:1 for heavy etch) of PFL Surface Preparation or 6:1 (or 1:1 for heavy etch) of PFL Eco Surface Preparation

Step 4.

Wash down with PFL Neutraliser and Cleaner

Step 5.

Hose off (or if indoors use a wet and dry vacuum to remove)

Whats the difference between the PFL Surface Preparation and PFL Eco-Surface Preparation?

The PFL Surface Preparation is a harsh acidic solution that gives off strong vapour when used, whereas the PFL Eco Surface Preparation is a weaker solution that does not have these issues, but it requires more to be effective.

For sloped or vertical areas use PFL Acid Gel

  • For sloped areas, follow a similar procedure to the above but ensure that when applying the gel, you stand in front of the line of gel walking backwards applying it where you have been. Then when washing off the PFL Neutraliser & Cleaner, wash in front of you walking forwards. This is simply to ensure that no peaks or lumps of gel result from footsteps as this can result in more etching at that point.
  • For vertical areas, simply apply, leave for 5 mins, then wash off with PFL Neutraliser and Cleaner with water.
